Adjusting the Parking Brake Linkage

1. Park the machine on a level surface, set the key switch to the O
and remove the key from the switch.
2. Engage the parking brake.
3. Remove the hood to access the parking brake links.
4. The distance between the shoulder on the brake link and the trunion pin
should be 3.2 to 4.7 mm (0.125 to 0.188 inch). If necessary, adjust the
distance as follows:
A. Loosen the flange nut at the end of the brake link to relax the compression
spring.
B. Loosen the upper and lower jam nuts on the turnbuckle assembly.
Note: The lower jam nut has left hand threads.
C. Use the flats on the turnbuckle rod to turn the rod in either direction until
the distance between the shoulder on the brake link and the trunion pin is
correct.
