Test Procedure (continued)
Hydraulic System: Testing the Hydraulic System
g417547
1.
Hydraulic tube
7. Install a pressure gauge at the hydraulic tube test fitting shown.
8. Install the rear wheel and lower the machine to the ground.
9. Attach a heavy chain to the rear of the machine frame and an immovable
object to prevent the machine from moving during testing.
10. Disengage the parking brake.
Note: The engine will stop if the brake is engaged and a traction control lever
is moved out of the N
11. Start the engine and run it at low-idle speed. Correct any hydraulic fluid leaks
at the test connections before continuing the test.
12. Set the throttle to the full speed (3,575 to 3,725 RPM). Use a non-contact
tachometer to verify the engine RPM.
13. Make sure hydraulic fluid is at normal operating temperature by operating the
machine for approximately 5 minutes.
14. Record the reading on the pressure gauge at the test fitting (not the pressure
gauge on the flow meter). The charge pressure (without load) should read
approximately 620 kPa (90 psi). If the charge pressure specification is not
met, consider the following:
A. The charge relief valve in the in the right side traction pump is damaged.
Replace or repair the valve as necessary; refer to
(Traction) Pumps (page
B. The right side traction pump charge pump is faulty. Replace or repair
the charge pump assembly as necessary; refer to
(Traction) Pumps (page
Use extreme caution when performing the test. The right side rear
wheel will be trying to move the machine forward.
