DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY
Disassemble and assemble the front brake caliper as
following illustration.
For brake pad removal/installation (page 18-7).
• Mark the pistons to ensure that they are reinstalled
in their original locations.
• When removing the caliper pistons with compressed
air, place a shop towel over the pistons to prevent
damaging the pistons and caliper body. Do not use
high pressure or bring the nozzle too close to the
fluid inlet.
• Install the pistons with the opening toward the pads.

22 N·m (2.2 kgf·m, 16 lbf·ft)
BLEED VALVE
5.4 N·m (0.6 kgf·m, 4.0 lbf·ft)
STOPPER RING
BRAKE PAD PIN
17 N·m (1.7 kgf·m, 13 lbf·ft)
INSPECTION
Check the following parts for scoring, scratches,
deterioration or damage.
– Caliper cylinders
– Caliper pistons
Measure the parts according to HYDRAULIC BRAKE
SPECIFICATIONS (page 1-9) and replace if necessary.
