Introduction

1.3.5.1 Optional Data Interface Modules

• Appendix B. CDI-40 ASI DATA INTERFACE
• Appendix C. CDI-60 HSSI DATA INTERFACE
• Appendix D. CDI-70 10/100/1000 BASE-T GIGABIT ETHERNET
INTERFACE (GBEI)
The optional data interface modules are installed or removed from the chassis
rear panel Interface Slots 1 and 2. See Table 1-1 for the allowable combination of
data interfaces and the data interfaces that are supported for redundancy. In all
cases, only one data interface is active at a time

Notes:
1) The original ("Earlier Units") CDI-40 supports Tx, Rx, or Duplex operation
in non-redundant applications, or Tx-only in 1:1 applications. For 1:N
applications, the module supports Tx, Rx, or Duplex operation, where
the CDI-40 'Rx | J2' and '1:1 Rx | J3' outputs provide the standard ASI
level.
2) The current ("Later Units") CDI-40 supports Tx, Rx, or Duplex operation in
1:1 or non-redundant applications, where the CDI-40 'Rx | J2' output is
the standard ASI level, and the '1:1 Rx | J3' output is higher so the
standard level is delivered after a 3 dB combiner. For 1:N applications,
the CDI-40 supports Tx, Rx, or Duplex operation, excluding the CDI-40 '1:1
Rx | J3' output.
