3.2 Install the Modem into a Rack Enclosure

Install the modem in its assigned position in a rack enclosure (Figure 3-2).

CAUTION
CORRECT GROUNDING PROTECTION IS REQUIRED – Connect the ground
stud, located on the rear panel of the modem, to a power system that
has separate ground, line and neutral conductors. Do not operate the
modem without a direct connection to ground.
The rack must be connected to a suitable earthing connection at all
times. You must connect the rack ground bar to a suitable earthing
demarcation point.
CORRECT AIR VENTILATION IS REQUIRED – Air flow must not be
impeded. Make sure there is proper air ventilation. Do not block the top
of the rack or the presence of a rack blower. The air temperature inside
the rack must never exceed 50°C (122°F).
