ENGINE CONTROL TROUBLE CODE
–
Check the cable from connector EB pin 1 to the next node in the wiring harness for opens.
» If the specifications have been met:
–
Check the next possible cause:
Fuel pump relay - the control wire has a short circuit to ground (terminal 31) (
Fuel pump relay - the control wire has a short circuit to ground (terminal 31)
Condition
The ignition is off.
The EFI control unit is disconnected. (
The break out box is connected to the wiring harness.
The fuel pump relay is disconnected. (
Fuel pump relay - check the control wire for a short circuit to ground (terminal 31)

Measure the resistance between the specified points.
Break out box CO pin 2 – Measuring point Ground (−)
Resistance
» If the specifications have not been met:
–
Check the cable from EFI control unit connector CO (
ground (terminal 31).

Check the cable from connector ET (
nal 31).
» If the specifications have been met:
–
Check the next possible cause:
Fuel pump relay - the control wire has a short circuit to sensor ground (
Fuel pump relay - the control wire has a short circuit to sensor ground
Condition
The ignition is off.
The EFI control unit is disconnected. (
The break out box is connected to the wiring harness.
The fuel pump relay is disconnected. (
Fuel pump relay - check the control wire for a short circuit to sensor ground.

Measure the resistance between the specified points.
