RJ-45 Connector Jackets
Use RJ-45 cable with connector jackets that are flush with the connector or that have connectors with
a no-snag feature.
Using cable with jackets that are wider than the connectors can cause:
Connectors that are not properly aligned with the port.
Crowded cable installation, which can cause connectors to pop out of the port.
The following figure shows examples of connector jacket types that are not recommended as well as
those that are recommended.
