Example
assign IP address for DHCP Client dynamically. DHCP Server sup-
ports to assign IP address for direct connected DHCP users, also
supports to assign IP address through DHCP users by DHCP Relay
forwarding.
Assign IP address for directly connected user, DHCP Server will
assign address by attached IP Pool on access DHCP user interface
(use peer default ip pool command to attach). DHCP SERVER will
choose corresponding address pool to assign on global configured
all address pool.
After start the built-in DHCP Proxy process, system will resolve
DHCP Client's IP address request on configured user interfaces, dy-
namically assign IP address for DHCP Client through external DHCP
Server configured on interfaces. When the client sends reletting
request and if the long lease time that the DHCP Server assigns
to DHCP Proxy is not overtime, DHCP Proxy will response to the
client. That is, DHCP Proxy does not need to send reletting request
to DHCP Server. This decreases the burden of DHCP Server.
This system contains DHCP Server, DHCP Relay and DHCP Proxy
functions inside, but they can't operate together. Thus, if the DHCP
Server function has been started, it must stop the started DHCP
Server function before starting DHCP Relay function.
This example describes how to start DHCP Relay function on an
interface.

leasetime
Use this command to configure the least time that the DHCP Proxy
assigns to DHCP Client.
Global configuration
ip dhcp proxy client leasetime <short_leasetime>
<short_leasetime>
It is 60 seconds by default.
This example shows how to configure the short lease time to 120
seconds.
