interface

The execution of this command enters the interface configuration
mode or the sub-interface configuration mode. For an inexistent
sub-interface, create a sub-interface and enter the sub-interface
configuration mode. To delete the corresponding interface and re-
lated configurations, use the no form of this command.
Global configuration
interface {<interface-name>| byname <byname>}
no interface {<interface-name>|<byname>}
<interface-name>
byname <byname>
The no form of this command is invalid for physical interfaces.
Both commands - no interface byname <byname> and no
interface <interface-name> can delete the interface.
To enter the configuration mode of the interface with parameter
byname, set the interface alias first.
This example describes how to enter interface 1 of network
board fei_1.
