encapsulation

Use this command to set the encapsulation mode of serial port or
channelized E1 interface. Restore default with the no command.
Interface configuration
encapsulation {ppp | hdlc | frame-relay}
no encapsulation
ppp
hdlc
frame-relay
The encapsulation mode of serial port or channelized E1 interface
is ppp.
This example describes how to set the encapsulation mode of the
serial port serial_1/1 to hdlc.
ZXR10(config)#interface serial_1/1
ZXR10(config-if)#encapsulation hdlc

encapsulation dot1Q

Use this command to encapsulate VLAN-ID for a newly created sub
interface. Cancel the encapsulation with the no command.
Subinterface configuration
encapsulation dot1Q <vlan-id>
encapsulation dot1Q range {<vlan-id>-<vlan-id>}
no encapsulation dot1Q
