The parity check bit is not added to the data bit sent via this in-
terface.
� This command is to modify the error check type on the selected
interface. The settings of the computer or equipment in com-
munication with it must be the same.
� It is applied only to ZXR10 GAR, ZXR10 ZSR.
This example describes how to set the error check type of asyn-
chronous serial port serial_1/1 to even check.
ZXR10(config)#interface serial_1/1
ZXR10(config-if)#parity even

physical-layer mode

Use this command to set the work mode of the synchronous/asyn-
chronous v24 serial port.

physical-layer mode {sync|async}

The default is synchronous v24 mode.
The work mode of the synchronous/asynchronous serial port de-
pends on the application environment. If it is connected with a
modem or a TA via PSTN or ISDN, the asynchronous mode is
selected; if it is connected with the CSU/DSU via DDN, the syn-
chronous mode is selected.
The synchronous v35 serial port does not support this command.
It is applied only to ZXR10 GAR, ZXR10 ZSR.
This example describes how to set the work mode of syn-
chronous/asynchronous serial port to asynchronous v24.
ZXR10(config)#interface serial_1/1

The number of 1 in the data bit is odd.
The number of 1 in the data bit is even.
