To prevent damage to electrical components, properly ground the server before beginning any installation, removal, or
replacement procedure. Improper grounding can cause electrostatic discharge.
Procedure
Procedure
1. Power down the server.
2. If installed, release the cable management arm .
3. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
4. Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
5. Do one of the following:
Extend the server from the rack .
Remove the server from the rack .
6. Remove the access panel .
7. Remove the air baffle .
8. Remove the middle cover .
9. Remove the fans.
10. Remove the fan cage.
11. Disconnect all GPU cables from the system board.
12. Remove a front GPU cage:
a. Open the release latch (callout 1).
b. Push the GPU cage out from the server (callout 2).
