Click the [Instrument Setup] button (<3> in Fig. 3-3) and the
Instrument Setup window will open.

The tab for the element selected in the Element window will
be displayed. To change view from one element to another,
click tab (<1> in Fig. 3-3) such as [1-Mg], [2-Cr], [3- Mn] on
the window. The following

Set the following items.
 Signal Mode
BKG Correct. is normally used, and need not be
changed.
BKG Correct. : Measurement is made using
Sample
Reference

background correction signal
(obtained by subtracting reference
signal from sample signal) via the
polarized Zeeman method.
: Measurement is made using
absorption signal (corresponding to
sample beam in double beam optics)
that has not been corrected.
: Measurement is made using
background absorption signal
(corresponding to reference beam in
double beam optics).
