8.2 Preparation for Measurement

Click the [Ready] button in the tool box. Start with "Set
conditions" when the hollow cathode lamp is off.
NOTE:
In the manual mode, the Start button will not appear
unless the [Ready] button is clicked.

On the menu bar, click the [Instrument Control] menu and
then [Lamp Spectrum]. On the displayed graph, make
sure the peak at measuring wavelength is in the center.
Then, click the [OK] button.
NOTE:
When the peak is inappropriate, check if the lamp is
installed properly. When the line noise is serious, the
service life of the lamp is almost out. Replace with new
lamp and check the lamp again.
Beware of Intense Light!
The hollow cathode lamp emits intense ultraviolet rays.
Directly gazing at the lamp could therefore result in
impaired vision. Do not look directly at the light from the
hollow cathode lamp.
