 Slit Width
Specify a slit width for the monochromator.
Normally an optimum value for the set element (default
value) is set, and need not be changed.
Change the slit width if necessary when the wavelength
or other item has been changed. When there is no
neighboring line, light quantity can be increased and
noise can be reduced by widening the slit. In cases
where there is a neighboring line emitted by the hollow
cathode lamp, it should be excluded from the
monochromator by narrowing the slit.
Available settings: 0.2, 0.4, 1.3, 2.6 nm
 Time Constant
Time constant expresses the degree of signal
smoothing. A larger time constant provides a reduced
noise but a damped rise of the signal.
For measurement with the graphite atomizer, a value of
0.1 second is normally used and there is no need for
change from this value.
Available settings: 0.02, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0,
 Lamp Current
By default, the optimum value for the set element is
assigned. So there is no need for change usually.
When using a lamp made by another maker or a multi-
element lamp, use the recommendations provided in the
instruction manual of each lamp.
Input range ........... 1.0 to 20.0 mA
By clicking the check mark
check box, the lamp current is turned OFF (used in
flame photometry mode).
