3.3 Monitoring of Measurement Process
(5)
Instrument Monitor Bar
Analyte element, message and analysis mode are
displayed. In addition, the following items are displayed.
 ABS
Absorbance signal (background corrected) is displayed
in real time.
 REF
Reference signal (background absorption) is displayed
in real time.
 Status
The present status of spectrophotometer (such as
Ready, measuring and stop) is indicated here.
 ID and Name
The ID and name of the sample under measurement are
indicated here (only after input).
 PMT voltage
The present voltage applied to the photomultiplier is
read here. A lower photomultiplier voltage indicates a
higher light intensity, so this voltage is useful as a
reference for judging a change in lamp energy or a
wavelength deviation. If the PMT voltage increases,
check the line spectrum of the hollow-cathode lamp.
Click [Display Line Spectrum] in the [Check Instrument]
menu. If the line of the line spectrum is waving, change
the lamp with a new one.
 Burner Height
The presently set burner height is indicated.
Since the burner height is not set automatically, make
adjustment to the indicated burner height.
Indicates the flame status. A flame is indicated during
combustion.
Indicates the cooling water status. A red indication
appears when the water flow is insufficient.
