15. Carefully remove each ion guide PCB assembly from its vessel and blow-dry each
assembly using inert, oil-free gas.
16. Discard the used isopropyl alcohol using an appropriate waste container.

7.16.6 Assembling the StepWave ion guide assembly

Required materials
• Chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves
• Combined 2.5-mm hex wrench and cone extraction tool
• New O-ring
• PEEK gasket
• StepWave assembly securing screws (2)
To assemble the StepWave ion guide assembly:

1. Fit the new O-ring to the differential pumping aperture on the second ion guide assembly.
