1 Waters Xevo G2-XS QTof Overview
This chapter describes the instrument, including its controls, sources, and IntelliStart Fluidics
system.
1.1 Waters Xevo G2-XS QTof
The Xevo G2-XS QTof Mass Spectrometry (MS) system is an orthogonal acceleration, time-of-
flight (Tof) mass spectrometer operated by Waters informatics software.
Either of the following high-performance, ZSpray, dual-orthogonal API sources is fitted as
standard equipment:
• LockSpray (ESI/APCI/ESCi) source, which combines these ionization modes:
•
Electrospray ionization (ESI) (Page 26)
•
Atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI) (Page 27)
•
Combined electrospray/atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (ESCi) (Page 27)
• NanoLockSpray source (see
The following optional sources are compatible with the Xevo G2-XS QTof:
• Optional combined APPI/APCI source (see
• Optional atmospheric solids analysis probe (ASAP) [see
(ASAP) (Page
• Optional atmospheric pressure gas chromatography (APGC) source [see
Pressure Gas Chromatography (APGC) source (Page
• Optional ionKey source (see
• Optional UniSpray LockSpray source (see
Notes:
• For the instrument's specifications, consult the Waters Xevo G2-XS QTof/Tof Site Preparation
Guide.
• Available source options can vary depending on the software you use to operate the Xevo
G2-XS QTof. For more information about source compatibility, refer to the Waters Knowledge
Base or the product pages on waters.com.
