Print Engine Module (on the Xerox Nuvera® EA Production System and Xerox Nuvera® 288 Perfecting
System)
The print engine(s) for both the Xerox Nuvera EA Production System and the Xerox Nuvera 288 Perfecting System are the same. The print engine houses the xerographic components
that transfer the digital image to the paper at the photoreceptor. The toner from the dry ink container is then fused to the paper in the Fuser.
While the Xerox Nuvera 288 Perfecting System is comprised of two print engines attached together, both systems do not support MICR printing and use EA dry ink only.
The unique paper path on the Xerox Nuvera 288 Perfecting System
On the Xerox Nuvera 288 Perfecting System, the first print engine is referred to as A1 and the second is A2. Print Engine A1 prints side one on its simplex paper path, inverts the sheet
and then passes it to A2. Print Engine A2 prints the second side of the sheet using the simplex paper path, inverts the sheet, and passes it to the Sheet Enhancement Module.

The Xerox Nuvera 288 Perfecting System also provides automatic image quality consistency and matching between the images printed from print engine A1 and print engine A2.
