10.13 Connecting Cables to the Fire Extinguishing System

Connect cables to the fire extinguishing system according to the user manual for the gas
extinguishing controller and instructions for each fire extinguishing component and
survey-based layout drawing.
Comply with the following rules when connecting cables to the fire extinguishing system:
Issue 02 (2015-06-30)
Route cables for the fire extinguishing system through metallic tubes, fire-retardant rigid
plastic tubes, or closed cable troughs for protection.
To route fire extinguishing control, communications, and alarm cables invisibly, use
metallic tubes or fire-retardant plastic tubes for protection, and route the cables at the
layer with non-combustible components.
To route fire extinguishing control, communications, and alarm cables visibly, use
metallic tubes or metallic cable troughs with fireproof measures for protection.
If the number of fire extinguishing cables is large, use junction boxes or wiring terminal
boxes. Cables routed from junction boxes and cable troughs to detector base boxes and
controlling equipment boxes should be routed through metallic tubes for protection.
Use insulated conducting wires or cables of different colors as the transmission lines for
fire detectors. The lines with positive polarity should be red, and those with negative
polarity should be blue. Use a consistent color to indicate a specified function of wires or
cables in your project. The wiring terminals should be numbered.
Route all cables in specified cable troughs or line pipes neatly and straightly without
twists, circles, and joints. The cables cannot be extruded or damaged. Do not make
cables cross each other.
Use terminal boards that are crimped or with tin solder joints in wiring terminal boxes.
The wiring terminals should be numbered.
