Gated Sweep Overview

Description
The Gated Sweep mode allows a trigger signal to dictate when the spectrum
analyser can sweep. This mode is useful for characterizing signals that are
pulsed on and off, such as RF burst transmissions or for measuring spurious
noise levels between transmission bursts.
Overview
The trigger signal must be synchronized to the period of the input signal
(shown as RF burst below).
The start of the gate time is produced from the positive or negative edge
of the trigger signal + the delay time.
The end of the gate time is determined by the set gate length.
The gated sweep should not be positioned at either end of the
transmission.

between the input trigger, the input signal and the position of

the gated sweep relative to the input signal.
Please take into consideration RBW settling time. Setting the
delay time too short may not leave enough time for the RBW
filter to resolve.
