1. Generator belt 6. A/C compressor pulley
2. Crankshaft pulley 7. Idler pulley
3. Generator pulley 8. Tension pulley
4. Power steering pump 9. Tensioner
pulley 10. Tension free point
5. Water pump pulley 11. Tension indicator
GENERATOR BELT (1.8 L engine model)
1) Remove engine under cover of right side from vehicle body.
2) Inspect belt for cracks, cuts, deformation, wear and cleanliness.
If any of above conditions are found replace generator belt by refer-
ring to "GENERATOR BELT" in Section 6B.
3) Remove air cleaner outlet hose.
4) Check to make sure that tension indicator points within À of the left
figure by using mirror.
If the indicator comes to  out of À passing Á, replace generator
belt by referring to "GENERATOR BELT" in Section 6B.
IDLE UP SYSTEM
1) Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
2) Turn A/C switch OFF, if equipped.
3) Turn steering wheel fully and check idle speed.
Engine idle speed drops a little momentarily when steering
wheel is turned fully but returns to its specified level immediate-
ly. If power steering pressure switch connector is connected,
check the same with that connector disconnected. Momentary
drop of engine idle speed should be less when it is connected
than when disconnected.
