12. Push 3rd and 4th shift rail (17) the remaining dis­
tance into cover ( ) and install new lock pin (24).

NOTE: Tapered end of pin goes in first.
13. Check interlocks by shifting reverse shift rail in re­
verse position. Other shifts rails should not shift
when this rail is shifted (fig. 5K).
14. Install three new welch plugs in bores of shift rail
holes. Install rail interlock hole plug.
REMOTE CONTROL ASSEMBLY

NOTE: Following procedures apply only to
transmissions having remote controls, such as
transmissions used on Tilt Cab Model vehicles.
Disassembly
1. Using a punch and hammer, remove retaining split
pin (14) from remote control shift rail (2). Remove
shift yoke (9) and selector (12) from shift rail (2).
2. Remove rubber shift rail boot (
retainer (21). Discard boot and retainer.
3. Remove O-ring seal (20) from shift rail (2). With
snap ring pliers, remove snap ring (19) from shift
rail ( ).

4. Loosen lock nut ( ) and remove shift yoke guide (7)

from cover (5). Remove lock nut (
