7. Underneath the skirt, inboard, remove a large bolt
fastened through the fender to the cowl extension.
Note shim and record.
. Under the hood remove 2 screws attaching skirt re­

inforcement to skirt.
9. Rotate
skirt
outward
rearward.
Installation
Reinstall in reverse order of removal. Note condition
of tape sealing full length of fender skirt flange. Replace
if necessary.

FRONT FENDER AND SURGE
TANK ACCESS DOOR
Each front fender is retained with attaching screws,
nuts and lock washers as shown in Figure 17. The handle
attaches to the bottom at the rear of the fender with
external tooth washers, bolts and nuts. Tape is used
before installation.
The surge tank access door is retained with screws
and a stud as shown.
ENGINE SPLASH SHIELD
Refer to Figure 18
Removal and Installation
1. Tilt the cab to expose engine area.

40, 50 and 60 Series
1. Remove bolt from inside door opening attached to
lower extension.
2. Remove bolts from under front of running board to
extension bottom.
3. Remove 3 bolts fastening skirt to flange of lower
extension.
4. Pull lower fender extension downward then out.
OTHER RUNNING BOARDS
Refer to Illustrations
CABS
2. Remove screws which attach shield to cab support
and remove shield from vehicle.
3. Lower brace and distributor shield may be removed
at this time if necessary.
4. To install follow removal procedure in reverse
order.
