FUEL LINE SERVICE
The fuel lines should be inspected occasionally for
leaks, kinks or dents.
If evidence of dirt is found in the
carburetor, fuel pump or on a disassembly, the lines
should be disconnected and blown out. Check the fuel
strainer in the tank for damage or omission.
All fuel lines are 5/16" diameter tubing except: L
and 283 cu. in. engines equipped with an optional frame
mounted fuel filter; 327 and 366 cu. in. V
all diesel engine models. Joints must be of the double-
lap flare type, constructed as shown in Section 5 of this
manual.
CAUTION:
Always completely drain gasoline
from fuel tank and all fuel lines if vehicle is to
be stored for any appreciable length of time.
This precaution will prevent gum formation and
resultant improper engine performance.
