. Remove wheel and brake drum assembly, being

careful not to damage outer bearing.
7. Slip pull back spring off of pins on inside of brake
shoes. See Figure 91 for parts identification.
. Remove cotter pin from camshaft and tap out cam­

shaft (fig. 90).
Camshaft Bracket Byshing Replacement
1. Using a suitable tool remove grease seal and old
bushings.
2. Using suitable bushing installer, install new bushing
and line ream to a finished diameter of 1.499" to
1.501". Install a new grease seal.
NOTE:
Be certain that a lubrication fitting has
been installed in camshaft bracket.
Installation
F r o n t
1. Slide camshaft into place making certain brake shoes
will contact cam at proper location.
2. Replace same number spacers as removed and
install cotter pin.
3. Install brake shoes, brake shoe " horseshoe" clips,
hold down nuts, and washers. Lock nuts in place with
cotter pins.

4. Install brake shoe pull back spring.
5. Install wheel and brake drum assembly, front wheel
bearing, spacer and spindle nut. Tighten spindle nut
to 55 foot pounds torque and insert cotter pin. (The
nut may have to be backed off slightly to allow
entrance of cotter pin.)
. Install rim and tire assembly, rim locks and wheel

nuts. Tighten nuts on opposite sides alternately to
torque specified in Section 3 under Wheels and T ires.
NOTE:
Wheel nuts must be checked at the end
of 500 miles to be certain that rim locks and
nuts have not loosened.
R e a r
1. Make certain camshaft is engaged properly before
installing retainer. Set brake shoes in place and
make certain pins and rollers will engage proper
location on cam. Do not install rollers and pins at
this time.
2. Install brake shoe pull back springs.
3. Pry shoes apart and install brake shoe cam rollers
and roller pins.
4. Install rear wheel. Install axle outer bearing and
adjusting nut. Adjust bearing as follows:
a. Tighten adjusting nut with T-handle wrench 12"
