Installation
1. Replace the core in the case using non-hardening
sealer.
Attach the core with the core retainers and
screws.
2. Remount the case to the firewall.
3. (10-30 Series) Replace and tighten the fender skirt
attaching screws and bolts.
4. Connect the temperature door cable to the door and
replace the seal.
5. Connect the heater hoses to the core tubes (the hose
to the water pump attaches to the upper core tube).
. Connect the motor wire and battery ground cable.

7. Refill the Cooling System.
Chevy Van
Removal
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain the radiator.
3. Disconnect heater hoses below toe pan.
4. Remove glove box.
5. Unclip the blower motor wire at the motor flange
terminal.

. Disconnect the defroster and air door control cables

at the distributor duct.
7. Remove distributor duct mounting screws.
. Remove defroster hoses from distributor duct.

9. Remove core tube grommet from the floor pan and
slide it up the core tubes.
Remove screws attaching heater case to toe pan.

Pull case away from toe pan and lower by sliding

core tubes further down through the toe pan. When
case is clear of the ash tray retainer and dash lower
edge, pull it toward the rear and withdraw the core
tubes from the toe pan hole.
Remove the temperature door cable.

Remove the screws attaching the core retainers to

the case and remove the core.
Installation
1. Replace the core in the case using a non-hardening
sealer. Attach the core retainers and screws.
Attach the temperature door cable and operate the

temperature control to check adjustment.
Insert the core tubes through the toe pan hole, move

the heater assembly forward under the dash, and lift
the assembly to the mounting position.

R eplace h eater case and d istribu to r mounting s c re w s
and tighten.
5. Replace the core tube grommet in the toe pan.
. Attach the defroster hoses to the distributor duct.

7. Connect the defroster and air door cables and check
adjustment.
. Connect the motor wire.

9. Replace the glove box.
Connect heater hoses below the toe pan.

11. Refill the Cooling System.
Connect the battery ground cable.

Tilt Cab
Removal
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
Drain radiator.

Remove exterior air intake grille panel below wind­

shield.
4. Loosen the clamp at the top of each rubber elbow
