on page 157.
• If [Paper Size] is set to [Adjust Width], paper that is wider than the width of the
received document
• If [Paper Size] is set to [Fixed Width], paper that does not match the received
document width.
For information about the paper size selection method, refer to Paper Size in the
Setups chapter on page 157.
• The printing doesn't occur if there is not even one paper option.
NOTE: If the automatic rotation feature is enabled, paper will be included among the
options if it is larger than the A4 SEF width on rotation.
Step 2: Determine the Printing Layout
Determine the print layouts for print candidates resulting from Step 1.
Paper types are checked in the following order, and layout is determined for those
which satisfy the conditions.
1) Is it possible to print at full size on one sheet of paper?
If [Long Size Originals] is set to [Auto Reduction], is it possible to print one page at
reduced size on one sheet of the paper?
2) Can one page be printed on one sheet with reduction not exceeding the setting for
maximum reduction ratio?
If [Long Size Originals] is set to [Cut Off], is it possible to print one page on one sheet
of the paper with the document cut to length?
3) Can one page be printed on one sheet with cutting not exceeding the setting for
maximum cutoff length?
4) Can the page be split for printing?
If the document cannot be reduced in size or cut off, or if printing on one sheet is still
impossible after those processes, it will be split and printed across multiple pages.
The printing doesn't occur if there is no option that fits one of the above four conditions.
Step 3: Determine the Optimum Paper Type
Paper types are checked in the following order, and the right paper is determined from
those which satisfy the conditions.
1) Printing is possible at full size, or at the reduction ratio closest to full size.
2) The lengths of the paper and document match.
3) If there are multiple paper types which meet the conditions, paper in the tray set on
the highest level is selected.
