• When the fax is sent using Direct Fax, the document number printed in the Sent
Report and the Transmission Report may be the same as a document number for a
regular Fax. This can occur because the system for managing document numbers
under Direct Fax and the system for doing the same under regular Fax are
separated from each other.
E-mail Transmission
• When sending e-mail, consult with the System Administrator to make sure the
SMTP server is set correctly, that it is working normally, and that user name and
password for logging onto the SMTP server are correct. For information about
SMTP server settings, refer to the Network Administrator Guide.
• When sending e-mail, consult with the System Administrator to make sure the user
name and password for POP server login are correct. For information about POP
server settings, refer to the Network Administrator Guide.

Fax Reception

• If a problem such as paper out, paper jam or toner out occurs while a received
document is being printed out, or when printing has just started, the document will
be stored in memory, and fax reception will not be stopped. However, if the machine
breaks down, or memory becomes full, it is no longer possible to store received
documents in memory, so fax reception is disabled.
• If a document is received for which printout of multiple copies on reception has been
specified, the specified number of copies will be sorted and printed. If it was not
possible to receive the document correctly to the last page, the pages which were
received correctly are printed in the specified number of copies.
Printing Reports and Received Documents during Copy Operation
• During operation of the copy screen, it is not possible to print reports, lists, received
fax documents, and documents ordered from the computer for printing. Printing
becomes possible again one minute after the end of copying, or once there is no
operation of the copy screen for at least one minute.
Copying and Printing while a Received Fax Document is Printing Out
• If the setting is for received fax documents to be printed out as soon as they are
received, it is impossible to print out copies and documents ordered from the
computer for printing while the received document is printing out.
For how to change the way received documents are processed, refer to Transfer
Document in the Setups chapter on page 158.
Printing Received Fax Documents, Reports and Lists
• Double-sided printing is impossible for a received fax document or a report/list.
NOTE: When the machine is being used as a printer, double-sided printing can be
specified for printing reports and lists.
