Service Procedures
When asked to Please copy installation software to the parallel port , type the following
command at the DOS prompt: copy CD-ROM_drive_letter:\ FieryIns \filename lpt1 /b
Specify the DOS command
Substitute your CD-ROM drive
Include the name of the subdirectory on the CD-ROM
Use filename on System software CD
copy d:\FieryIns\filename lpt1 /b
Look at the MS-DOS window on the PC-compatible and make sure that the drive
indicated at the DOS prompt is the CD-ROM drive.
refers to the file on the system software CD that installs the system software and

/b specifies the binary option.
Make sure to spell the subdirectory name and filename correctly.
17. Press the return (or enter) key on the PC-compatible.
Wait while the Control Panel indicates the percentage of actual progress or displays a
transforming character while the RIP Station 5000 is:
• Scanning directories...
• Installing...
• Verifying...
• Unpacking...
If the download fails to start or fails to finish, an error description will appear on the
Control Panel. Especially if the error occurs during the unpacking stage, repeat the
procedure, including the formatting of the HDD.
18. At the next screen System requires reboot after installation
Wait while the Control Panel indicates that the RIP Station 5000 is:
• Rebooting system
• Loading system
19. At the Language Setup screen, select a language for screen text: display the name of the
appropriate language and select OK.
Use the control button on the Front Panel to cycle through the languages available. If you
select a language different from the one initially displayed in the Control Panel, the
system reboots and then presents screen text in the language you selected.
