1. If possible, print the Configuration page from the Functions menu.
If you are replacing the HDD, you will need to reinstall system software after the new
HDD is installed. Setup settings are reset to the default configuration when system
software is installed.
The Configuration page gives you current Setup information.
2. Shut down the RIP Station 5000
(see "To shut down the RIP Station 5000" on page 4-2).
3. Open the RIP Station 5000
(see "To open the RIP Station 5000" on page 4-3).
4. For stability during service, remove the front panel
(see "To remove the front panel" on page 4-6).
5. Remove the HDD cable from motherboard connector J3.
Using a ribbon cable connector extractor is recommended if needed. Pull the connector
straight out so as not to bend pins on the motherboard. Do not pull on the cable itself.
