Power switch

O INSTALL THE POWER SWITCH
1. Unpack the new power switch, ground shield, and wires.
2. Slide the ground shield over switch and then secure the switch to the metal bracket with
the two screws previously removed.
Position the power switch on the metal bracket so the silkscreened | is on top when the
RIP Station 5000 is in the upright position.
3. Connect the AC power cable to the power switch and power supply.
The AC power cable consist of one blue and one brown wire. Seat the connectors making
sure to match the label on the power switch:
• Connect the blue cable (Neutral) to "N" on the power switch
• Connect the brown cable (Phase) to "P" on the power switch
• Seat the cable connector on the power supply so that the blue cable is on the "N" pin
and the brown cable is on the "L" (Line) pin.
4. Connect the ground cable to the ground pins on the power supply, the power switch, and
the chassis (see Figure 4-18 on page 4-25).
The ground cable consists of two green wires. Use a metric M3 wrench to secure the two
ground wires to the chassis ground pin on the metal bracket.
• Connect one wire to the power supply ground pin and to the chassis ground pin on the
metal bracket.
• Connect the other green wire to the power switch ground pin ("E" for "Earth") and to
the chassis ground pin on the metal bracket.
Connecting the grounding wires incorrectly can blow a fuse external to the
RIP Station 5000.
5. If you removed the front panel from the center frame, reattach it
(see "To install the front panel" on page 4-7).
6. Reassemble the RIP Station 5000 and verify functionality
(see "Restoring functionality after service" on page 4-11).
