Chapter 2
Configuration Parameters
Remote Annex Administrator's Guide for UNIX
Book C-88
If input_flow_control is set to start/stop, the following two
additions are made:
If input_start_char is 0–31 decimal, the bit indexed by this
parameter is set in the ACCM.
If input_stop_char is 0–31 decimal, the bit indexed by this
parameter is set in the ACCM.
If output_flow_control is set to start/stop, the following two
additions are made:
If output_start_char is 0–31 decimal, the bit indexed by this
parameter is set in the ACCM.
If output_stop_char is 0–31 decimal, the bit indexed by this
parameter is set in the ACCM.
For example, the initial ACCM sent to the peer is 0x000A0001 if
ppp_acm is set to 0x00000001 (i.e., the ASCII NUL character will not
be sent) and the following parameters are set as indicated:
input_flow_control
input_start_char
input_stop_char
output_flow_control
output_start_char
output_stop_char
Since the output flow control parameters are outside the range 0–31
decimal, they do not affect the ACCM.
The na/admin command show port ppp_acm still displays the ppp_acm
setting. The CLI command netstat –ipnn, where nn is the port number,
displays the true mask (ACCM) value, i.e., the value negotiated between
the two PPP processes.
