Foreign and surge voltage protection

The E and M Trunk card meets CS03 over-voltage (power cross) specifications and FCC Part
68 requirements.

Connector pin assignments

The E and M Trunk card brings the four analog trunks to the backplane through a 160-pin
connector shroud. The backplane is cabled to the I/O panel on the rear of the module, which
is then connected to the Main Distribution Frame (MDF) by 25-pair cables.
Telephone trunks connect to the E and M Trunk card at the MDF using a wiring plan similar to
that used for line cards.
