4C-6 Rear Brakes:
• Apply the brake fluid to piston seal (1) and dust seal
(2).
CAUTION
!
Replace the piston seal (1) and dust seal (2)
with new ones.
BF: Brake fluid (DOT 4)
• Install the piston seals as shown.

• Apply grease to the inside of the boot.
: Grease 99000–25100 (SUZUKI Silicone
Grease or equivalent)
• Temporarily tighten the sliding pin (3) and apply
grease to the sliding pin.
: Grease 99000–25100 (SUZUKI Silicone
Grease or equivalent)
• After mounting the caliper, tighten the sliding pin (3) to
the specified torque. Refer to "Rear Brake Caliper
Removal and Installation (Page 4C-4)".
Tightening torque
Rear brake caliper sliding pin (a): 27 N·m (2.7 kgf-
m, 19.5 lb-ft)

Rear Brake Caliper Parts Inspection

Refer to "Rear Brake Caliper Disassembly and
Assembly (Page 4C-4)".
Brake Caliper Cylinder
Inspect the brake caliper cylinder wall for nicks,
scratches or other damage. If any damage is found,
replace the caliper with a new one.

Brake Caliper Piston
Inspect the brake caliper piston surface for any
scratches or other damage. If any damage is found,
replace the piston with a new one.
Brake Caliper Sliding Pin
Inspect the brake caliper sliding pin for wear and other
damage. If any damage is found, replace the sliding pin
with a new one.
