• With the opposite side of the pistons reassembled, perform the
remainder of the pistons in the same manner of the previous
page.

BRAKE CALIPER INSPECTION

BRAKE CALIPER PISTONS
Inspect the brake caliper pistons for any scratches or other dam-
age.
BRAKE CALIPER
Inspect each brake caliper cylinder wall for nicks, scratches or
other damage.
BRAKE CALIPER REASSEMBLY AND
REMOUNTING
Reassemble the caliper in the reverse order of disassembly pro-
cedures and observe the following points.

* Wash the caliper components with fresh brake fluid
before reassembly. Do not wipe off brake fluid after
washing the components.
* Replace the piston seal and dust seal with new ones
with brake fluid applied.

Brake fluid specification and classification: DOT 4
• Install the piston seal and dust seal as shown in the right illus-
tration.
• Install the piston.

Pay attention to the direction of the piston seals.
