Description
Set for any unrecoverable read, write,
or positioning error (this flag is set in
conjunction with flags 4, 5, or 6).
Set for any unrecoverable read, write,
or positioning error that is due to a
faulty tape cartridge.
Set for any unrecoverable read error
where the isolation is uncertain and
failure could be due to a faulty tape
cartridge or drive hardware.
Set for any unrecoverable write or
positioning error where isolation is
uncertain and failure could be due to
a faulty tape cartridge.
Set when the tape cartridge reaches
its end of life (EOL).
Set when the tape cartridge is not
data-grade. Any data that you back
up to the tape is at risk.

The drive inside the library has been taken
offline. This is for information purposes only.
No action is required.
No action is required.
• Redo the library inventory to correct
inconsistency.
• Restart the operation.
This flag is cleared when all fans are working
again.
The power supply has failed inside the library.
Contact Overland Technical Support.
Check the labels for damage.
Action Required
See the action required for Flag Number 4,
5, or 6, if set, in this table.
Replace the tape cartridge.
If Flag Number 4 is also set, the tape
cartridge is defective. Replace the tape
cartridge.
If Flag Number 9 is also set, make sure that
the write-protect switch is set so that data
can be written to the tape. See Write-
Protect Switch.
If Flag Number 4 is also set, the tape
cartridge is defective. Replace the tape
cartridge.
1. Copy the data to another tap cartridge.
2. Discard the old (EOL) tape.
Replace the tape cartridge with a data-
grade tape cartridge.
