Installation and Configuration Tasks for
FASTPTCP
To install and configure a FASTPTCP print process, perform the following tasks:
1. Install the FASTPTCP object code ($SYSTEM.SYSTEM.FASTPTCP) This step is
described in
2. Add the following configuration information to the Spooler subsystem either
interactively or in a command file:
a. Create one or more FASTPTCP print processes by using the Spoolcom PRINT
command.

PRINT command to specify additional print process configuration options for
FASTPTCP. The specification of PRINT PARM attributes for FASTPTCP is

b. Associate each device name (that is, the device name designated for a TCP/IP
printer) with the appropriate FASTPTCP print process and specify the
appropriate Spooler device attributes for each device by using the Spoolcom
DEV command.
In theory, a FASTPTCP print process supports a maximum of 32 printers;
however, practical configurations usually have 10 to 16 printer devices per
process.

c. Designate one or more Spooler job locations for each printer and associate
each printer with the appropriate device name by using the Spoolcom LOC

3. Create one or more FASTCNFG files to contain network protocol parameters and
transport parameters for the devices. The creation of a FASTCNFG file is
