Spooler Configuration Tasks
Note. The examples used in the procedure and sample file that follow are not complete. For
example, the Spoolcom DEV command does not include the complete specification of Spooler
device attributes. You must specify the commands and command attributes that are required
for your specific Spooler configuration. For more information about Spooler device
configuration, refer to the following manuals:
Guardian User's Guide (task-oriented instructions for configuring and operating a Spooler
subsystem on a G-series system).
Guardian System Operations Guide (task-oriented instructions for configuring and
operating a Spooler subsystem on a D-series system).
Spooler Utilities Reference Manual (Spoolcom interface syntax).
The Spooler configuration subsections of this manual for each specific version of the
FASTP network print process.
To add a FASTP network print process to the Spooler configuration, associate devices
with the print process, associate job locations with the devices, and instruct the FASTP
network print process to read the FASTCNFG file, use the following Spoolcom
commands:
1. Open the Spooler subsystem using the supervisor process name. For example:
OPEN $SUP1
where
$SUP1
is the Spooler supervisor process name.
Note. You must add a print process before you define a device controlled by the process. 
You must add a device before you define a location for it.
2. Create a print process using the print process object code. For example:
PRINT $PRNT1, FILE $SYSTEM.SYSTEM.FASTPSMB, BACKUP 2
where
$PRNT1
is the process name to be assigned to the print process.
