Installation and Configuration Considerations for
FASTPX25
SUBS140 = subvalue
specifies a 16-bit value to use as a substitute when returning error 140 to the
Spooler supervisor. The Spooler supervisor considers error 140 to be a retryable
error. Substituting a non-retryable error, such as error 104, avoids this SVC being
blocked because a particular NUA cannot be reached.
SVCLIST = svc [,svc,...];
specifies a list of SVCs (where each SVC corresponds to one X25AM subdevice
(SU). FASTPX25 selects a free SVC from this list when a job is to be printed on the
Spooler device. Each SVCLIST can contain up to 256 entries, but the total number
of unique SVCs known to a single FASTPX25 print process also must not exceed
256. Each SVC must be separated by at least one space and the list must be
completed with a semicolon (;). The list can span more than one line.
SVCMACRO = svclist
specifies the name of a previously defined list of SVCs. This list is an alternative to
SVCLIST and avoids the need to repeat the same list of SVCs for each Spooler
device. The list must be declared by an earlier MACRO entry in the FASTCNFG
file. See
Using MACRO Entries
TIMEOUT
specifies the interval (in 10-millisecond units) that FASTPX25 waits for I/O
completion from X25AM. Adjusting the timeout interval can be useful in handling
PADs that do not clear the call when printers go not ready for long periods. By
default, FASTPX25 uses a 10-minute timeout value for I/O completion. The timeout
value specified can be up to 31 bits in size.
