Expanding to a 4x4 configuration by adding storage systems to a 2DC configuration

To expand to a 4x4 configuration by adding storage systems to a 2DC configuration, perform the
procedure below. The following figure is a representation of the expansion.
Setting up the Storage System
Set up the following items by using Remote Web Console.
1.
Configure an arbitration command device on the subordinate disk controller (S2).
2.
Set up an arbitration path from the supervisor disk controller (S1) to the subordinate disk
controller (S2).
3.
Map the arbitration command device on the subordinate disk controller (S2) to the supervisor
disk controller (S1) (setup of the remote command device).
4.
Register the journal group (timer type: SYSTEM) in the storage system (P2) and the storage
system (S2).
Setting up a Business Continuity Manager Environment
Create a disk configuration definition file for each of the storage systems (P2 and S2).
Establish a logical path between the storage systems (P2 and S2).
Define a route between the storage systems (P2 and S2).
Register a command device for each of the storage systems (P2 and S2).

Creating Copy Groups
Create copy groups from the primary site.
To expand to a 4x4 configuration by adding storage systems to a 2DC configuration:
1.
Change the copy pair status of the existing journal group to DUPLEX to ensure the same copy
direction is shared within the group.
2.
From the ISPF panel, define a copy group container.
Add journal groups to the existing copy group definition file used in a 2DC configuration.
3.
From the ISPF panel, define the copy group container as an EXCTG.
