Creating a Disk Configuration Definition File

Scan the storage system to create a disk configuration definition file. Perform a scan that includes
the volumes to be defined in the copy group and the command device. In a delta resync
configuration, because operations might be necessary on each site, you need to perform a scan
from each host, instead of a Remote Scan, to acquire the correct information, such as the device
number (DEVN).
To perform a scan from each host in a delta resync configuration to create a disk configuration
definition file:
1.
Perform a Local Scan on the primary site from the primary host.
2.
Perform a Local Scan on the local site from the local host.
3.
Perform a Local Scan on the remote site from the remote host.
4.
Transfer the disk configuration definition file containing the scan results of each site to the
other sites so that each site will have the scan results from all the sites.
