Configuring routes

This section describes configuring routes that will be defined in the route list.

Procedures for configuring routes

To configure routes:
1.
Identify the remote storage systems.
In a configuration in which operations are performed on copy pairs, among the storage
systems that are not directly connected to a host via a channel (remote storage systems),
identify the ones that contain P-VOL or S-VOL copy groups managed by Business Continuity
Manager.
2.
Configure the routes.
Configure routes that start with the storage systems that are directly connected to the host via
a channel. Multiple routes can be configured from a single storage system. However, this
does not mean that routes can always be defined to and from storage systems containing
remote copies (see
as many remote storage systems as possible. For details on configurations that cannot be
defined, see
(page 584)
3.
Check the logical path between storage systems.
To define routes, a logical path is required that is in the same direction as the route.
