Settings in the Set Defaults panel

This section describes the items below, which need to be initially configured in order to use Business
Continuity Manager. You can specify these items in the Set Defaults panel, which is displayed from
the Main Menu panel. To use Business Continuity Manager, you first need to specify the DAD ID
and the prefix.

Specifying the Device Address Domain ID

A Device Address Domain (DAD) is a user-designated set of volumes that is accessible from a host
on which Business Continuity Manager is running. Each Device Address Domain is identified by
its unique Device Address Domain ID.
Define Device Address Domain ID from the Set Defaults panel that is displayed when you select 1
Set Defaults in the Main Menu ISPF panel.
When you define a copy group that involves volumes on different sites, use the Local Device Address
Domain ID in the Set Defaults ISPF panel to assign a unique Device Address Domain ID (DADP or
DADS in these examples) for each site.
Once you specify a Device Address Domain ID for the primary site in Business Continuity Manager
(DADP for these examples), Business Continuity Manager can directly manipulate the volumes at
the primary site.

Domain ID. When executing an NG scan to acquire device configuration information, specify a
unique Non Gen'ed Device Address Domain ID.
NOTE:
A Non Gen'ed Device Address Domain ID for an NG scan cannot be specified as a
Device Address Domain ID in the route.
