14. Press the F3=Exit key to save the scan results to a disk configuration definition file.
Disk configuration definition file name: prefix.DSK.SNnnnnn.dad-id.
In the configuration example in
named CONFIG01.DSK.SN14002.SF is generated.

Scanning a device locally on the secondary site (local scan)

To scan a volume on the secondary site:
1.
Display the Main Menu panel and choose 1 Set Defaults.
The Set Defaults panel appears.
2.
Specify CONFIG01 (the same prefix as the primary site) in Configuration File Prefix and LA
in Local Device Address Domain ID.
3.
Press the F3=Exit key.
You are returned to the Main Menu panel.
4.
Choose 3 Discover/Define Configuration.
The Discover/Define Configuration panel appears.
5.
Choose 1 Discover HP Storage.
The Discover HP Storage Arrays panel appears. In the initial status, no display line appears.
6.
Press the F4=Discover key.
The Scan Device Address Extent panel appears.
7.
Specify / for Device Num or Volser to set the scan target, and specify the scan range in Start
and End.
8.
Press the F6=Scan key.
The scan result appears.
9.
Repeat steps 7 and 8 to perform a scan with another scope.
10. After the scan has completed, press the F3=Exit key.
The Discover HP Storage Arrays panel displays the list of detected storage system serial
numbers found through scanning.

12. Specify s in the AC column to display detailed information.
In the Control Unit Selection List panel, the scan result appears for each CU.
13. Specify s in the AC column to display further detailed information.
The Command Control Address (CCA) Selection List panel displays the scanning results within
the CU by CCA (device).
14. Press the F3=Exit key to save the scan result into a disk configuration definition file.
Disk configuration definition file name: prefix.DSK.SNnnnnn.dad-id
In the configuration example in

430), a disk configuration definition file named CONFIG01.DSK.SN14001.LA is
generated.

site
