Managing the HOLDTRNS Status

If the pair status changes to HOLDTRNS before execution of the command YKRESYNC DELTAJNL
(delta resync pair synchronization), or if the pair status does not change from HOLDTRNS to HOLD
after execution of the command YKMAKE HOLD (delta resync pair creation), no differential update
has been kept in journal between the local site and the remote site because of an environmental
reason or the effect of the copy pair status of other copy group. In this case, perform the following
procedure to change the copy pair status to HOLD:

Case where the conditions described in No. 1 are not satisfied:
Fewer delta resync pairs compared to Cnt Ac-S Z and Cnt Ac-J Z copy pairs
to see if all conditions are met. If any of the conditions is not met,

The number of delta resync pairs
is equal to the number of Cnt
Ac-J Z pairs
All Cnt Ac-S Z pairs have the
same copy direction.
How to check
Execute the YKQUERY command
for delta resync pairs, Cnt Ac-J
Z pairs, and Cnt Ac-S Z pairs.
Make sure that the number of
pairs in non-SIMPLEX status is
the same for each copy type.
Execute the YKQUERY command
for Cnt Ac-S Z pairs. Make sure
that the copy direction of all Cnt
Ac-S Z pairs is set from the
primary site toward the local site,
or from the local site toward the
primary site.

Action Item
Execute the YKMAKE command or
the YKDELETE command to make
the same number of Cnt Ac-S Z,
Cnt Ac-J Z, and delta resync pairs
with the same status.
Modify the copy direction of all
Cnt Ac-S Z pairs to be the same.
