Performing a remote scan to acquire remote storage system information

Acquire remote storage system information by specifying a route list ID and performing a remote
scan. When the scan completes, assign a dummy device number.
Before performing a remote scan, make sure the following conditions are satisfied.
A logical path (inter-control unit or inter-disk controller logical path) is established.
To confirm this, in the Path Set Status panel, which is displayed from the Manage Path Set
panel (from the Main Menu panel, choose 5 Manage Path Set), check whether a logical path
has been established

volume by using a command device.
Inter-disk controller logical path
lists the configuration files required for executing an NG scan.
Description
The disk configuration definition file
for a local scan and the disk
configuration definition file for an NG
scan are required.
Required to operate a Non Gen'ed
volume by using a command device.
NOTE:
Required to establish, delete,
or acquire the inter-control unit logical
path when all volumes of the relevant
control unit are Non Gen'ed volumes.
A path set is required for inter-disk
controller logical paths.
DAD ID of a P-VOL: Specify the
DAD ID (Non Gen'ed DAD ID) for
an NG scan
DAD ID of a S-VOL: Specify the
DAD ID for a local scan.
DAD ID of a P-VOL: Specify the
DAD ID for a remote scan.
However, when a local scan is
executed for a P-VOL, specify the
DAD ID for a local scan. (The Non
Gen'ed DAD ID cannot be
specified).
DAD ID of a S-VOL: Specify the
DAD ID (Non Gen'ed DAD ID) for
an NG scan.
Remarks
Remarks
A Non Gen'ed DAD ID cannot be
specified as a DAD ID in the route.
This item is not necessary if you use
Remote Web Console to set up logical
paths.
