NOTE: A volatile storage system failure is one in which the storage system memory enters a
volatile state because of the failure, wherein copy pair information, as well as data, is completely
lost, and the hardware information must be configured.
This section explains the maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for a Delta Resync
configuration.
The figures in the procedures in this section use the following legend:
The itemized lists under the figures in the procedures describe the commands that must be executed
in the procedures.
Target Description
(Primary > Remote).
During recovery, the
Cnt Ac-S Z copy pairs
and delta resync pairs
must be deleted and
then recreated.
Local site storage Suspend Cnt Ac-S Z
system failure copy pairs, and then
(nonvolatile) change the
configuration to a
2DC configuration
(Primary > Remote).
Remote site storage After error recovery,
system failure (volatile) the Cnt Ac-J Z copy
pairs and delta resync
pairs must be deleted
and recreated.
Remote site storage After error recovery,
system failure resynchronize Cnt Ac-J
(nonvolatile) Z copy pairs.
Primary site host Perform a delta
failure resync, and then
change the
configuration to a
3DC Multi-Target
configuration in which
the operation is
performed from the
local site (Local >
Primary, Local >
Remote).
Path failure between Suspend Cnt Ac-S Z
the Primary > Local copy pairs, and then
storage systems change the
configuration to a
2DC configuration
(Primary > Remote).
