or assign an attribute to an existing copy group.

When Defining a New Copy Group

To define a new copy group, specify the Open/MF Consistency attribute in the Copy Group
Attributes window.
1.
Specify the same consistency group ID as the open system copy group that you want to preserve
consistency in the Setting C/T ID Attributes panel.
2.
Specify Y for OPEN/MF to enable the copy group attribute in the Copy Group Attributes panel.
3.
Load the copy group definition file.
4.
Make a copy group.
The Open/MF Consistency attribute is enabled on the storage system.

When Assigning an Attribute to a Existing Copy Group

To assign the Open/MF Consistency attribute to an existing copy group, change the copy group
definition by specifying the Open/MF Consistency attribute, and then perform a resynchronization
by specifying the option for changing the attribute settings. If you perform a resynchronization
without specifying the option, the change to the definitions will not be reflected in the storage
system settings.
1.
Load the copy group definition file.
2.
Suspend the copy group.
3.
Change the value of OPEN/MF to Y in the Copy Group Attributes panel and update the copy
group definition file.
If a consistency group ID has not been specified, specify the same consistency group ID as
the open system copy group that you want to preserve consistency by using C/T ID.
4.
Load the updated copy group definition file.
5.
Resynchronize the copy group by specifying the OPENMFUPDATE parameter (the option for
changing the attribute settings) to change the attribute value.
The Open/MF Consistency attribute is enabled on the storage system.
NOTE:
If you execute the YKQUERY command with the VERIFY parameter before the
resynchronization process has completed, the YKZ271E error occurs because of an inconsistency
between definitions and entities.

When Disabling an Attribute of an Existing Copy Group

1.
Load the copy group definition file.
2.
Suspend the copy group.
3.
Change the value of OPEN/MF to N in the Copy Group Attributes panel and update the copy
group definition file.
4.
Load the updated copy group definition file.
5.
Resynchronize the copy group by specifying the OPENMFUPDATE parameter (the option for
changing the attribute settings) to change the attribute value.
The Open/MF Consistency attribute of the consistency group is disabled.
