Figure 69 Example of Deleting Command Devices
When deleting command devices from the primary site, first delete the secondary storage system
(secondary DKC), and then delete the primary storage system (primary DKC).
From the primary site, if you delete CD1 on the primary storage system before deleting CD2 on
the secondary storage system, you will be unable to delete CD2. If CD1 is accidentally deleted
first, redefine CD1 with the YKBLDCMD command, and then delete CD2.

Deleting Command Devices Registered in a Route List

To delete command devices registered in a route list, execute the YKDELCMD command from the
Route Status panel, or execute the YKDELCMD command with the storage system serial number
specified from a script.

from the primary site. Even though these are registered in the route list, the command devices
registered in the storage system from the secondary site (CD5, CD6, CD7 and CD8) cannot be
deleted from the primary site. To delete CD5, CD6, CD7 or CD8, either delete them from the
secondary site, or delete it as you would delete a command device not registered in the route list.

Deleting Command Devices Not Registered in a Route List

To delete command devices not registered in a route list, delete them from the Extra Command
Device Direct Operation panel. You can also delete them by executing the YKDELCMD command
from a script, specifying either the SN (storage system serial number), CU, CCA, and APID
parameters, or the DEVN and APID parameters.
To confirm the deletion when using an XP12000, XP24000, or P9500 Disk Array, execute the
YKQRYDEV command from the Route Status panel or a script, and make sure that the information
for the corresponding command device is not displayed. If this information is not displayed, then
the deletion was successful. For the XP1024/XP128 Disk Array series, perform the above procedure
again, and if an I/O error occurs, then deletion was successful.
